Getting Ready

I am sitting here in a black dress and modest heels and hair down - for once - and absolutely no make-up (I happen to hate wearing make-up, so I don't even bother). I am ready to perform with little Willie at my side.

I hope you and Will knocked 'em dead!

I'm going to give you a little unsolicited advice, as I have a degree in theatre: if you never wear makeup, wear it for a performance. If you don't wear any makeup you will be washed out on stage under lighting. I put makeup on my girls for their dance recitals, though the only other time they MIGHT have makeup on is at Halloween, as part of their costumes. You want the audience to see your facial expressions.

Lecture done. ;)

Sorry about all the snow you're getting today, and tomorrow (I think). Spring really is coming.
Really.

I do remember being shocked at what seemed to me like pounds of blush being put on my face for my first play, when I was fourteen. For some reason I never think to wear it if it's not a play I'm doing, but I think you're right.

Will and I had a marvelous time! He was so cute onstage in his top hat.

The snow seems to have ceased coming down, but the world is blindingly bright with what's left over.

Not to mention it's terribly cold. Just last week it was almost sixty degrees ....

Thanks for commenting, Ariandalen! See you on Quiche's blog ....
